    Enlarged, it reminds me of those Chinese soldier figures long buried that were recently unearthed.

    Hi Glenn, hi Kala. That was water blown by strong wind from a nearby lake on the grass where it froze. This happened several times during the night resulting in larger and larger "ice pebbles" like the ones you see. Maybe it's worth posting some more relevant photos.
